Day 4

After a long night of gambling at Wind River Casino, we finally headed back out into the wilderness. Although now I have 30 extra dollars from my blackjack earnings! We drove through the Grand Tetons and got a great view of the Rocky Mountains. Then we finally reached Yellowstone. Our first stop was Old Faithful Geyser. Normally its about an hour and a half between eruptions but luckily we got there and five minutes later we saw it blow! Just as amazing were the hot springs scattered throughout the park. The bacteria that live in the springs color the water with vibrant colors of blue, red, and yellow. The only downside of the springs was the extremely strong smell of sulfur, which smells like rotten eggs. My dad, who has an unusually good sense of smell, was almost vomiting as we went through some of the smellier springs. On our way out of the park I saw what very few people ever have the chance to see- a grizzly bear! Unfortunately we don't have any pictures because he was high in the mountains and disappeared quickly. Little did the bear know that he caused a half-hour traffic jam! After leaving Yellowstone, we entered Montana and stayed at the Cinnamon Lodge- a rustic lodge on the Gallatin River. We had some great Mexican food after a long adventure filled day. What could be better than that? or seeing a grizzly bear? or watching Old Faithful erupt? Watching the Blackhawks win the Stanley Cup! Go Hawks!
