Traveling through Alaska has been better than I could have ever imagined. But today we are starting to move on towards California for a change in scenery and new places to explore. We started the day in Eagle River, just outside of Anchorage. All we expected was to do our laundry and be on our way. Instead, we got a parade! It just so happened that we came during the town festival, so we were able to have a nice view of the festivities from the laundromat. Denali (also know as Mt. McKinley) was our last destination to see in Alaska. Normally this immense snow-covered mountain (Denali means "Great White One") is shrouded in clouds, but we had the luck of seeing it from the road in complete sunshine. Divine intervention? It must be because I'm always trying to pick up litter at the campgrounds. Trying to find a place to sleep in Denali wasn't so lucky. All of the nearby cabins were booked, the good campsites were taken, and in general we were scrambling to find a place to sleep. We ended up staying in a motel/hostel in a small railroad town. The doors didn't have locks and some parts of the building seemed to be falling apart.... but it all turned out ok. The next day was rather uneventful. 700 miles of driving from dawn to dusk. Or whatever you call that weird time of day up here in the north where it starts to turn to night but never really quite gets there. Tonight we are in Whitehorse. Its good to be back.

I wish our parade back home had a bearded man on a float playing the guitar
Doing the clothes
Coolest motorcycle I have ever seen
The elk don't care about no bus
Great salmon dinner in Denali
