Day 15

Big day today! Even though Whitehorse was a lot of fun, it was time to move on. Continuing towards Alaska, we stopped at the little town of Haines Junction for a quick snack at the bakery. There we found a sign advertising air tours over the famous Kluane Mountains. The ice field on top of this mountain range and the neighboring (in Alaska) Saint Elias range is the third biggest continuous ice field next only to the ones found at the North and South poles. It was an opportunity that couldn't be passed up. Half and hour later we were strapped in the airplane with our headsets on, being led on the tour of a lifetime by our amazing pilot Clint. The views were spectacular- the pictures below hardly do it justice. It really does take an aerial view to appreciate the massive scale of the glaciers flowing down from the ice field. The experience is something I'll never forget. Following the mountain range towards Alaska, we passed by Kluane Lake, Yukon's largest body of water.  The border stop was short and pleasant and then we were back in the USA. We stayed the night at Tok and had a great pizza dinner at Fast Eddy's Restaurant. Time to start exploring the biggest and wildest state in America!

 Getting excited!

    1. It's hard not to get a decent picture up there. Nature just outdid itself creating this spectacular landscape.
